Will my flowers be ready the same day I order?

The short answer is it depends! The long answer is more complicated.

On my order page, my written policy is that flowers ordered before noon will be ready the next day. I always try to deliver them sooner, but there’s a specific reason I’m choosing to give myself more time to create your bouquet.

Unlike a traditional flower shop, I don’t keep cut flowers on hand at all times. Your flowers are out in the field. This “cut-to-order” method helps ensure your bouquet is as fresh as it can be.

When I first get an order, I go out into the garden and see what’s blooming now. I wait until early morning or late evening to cut the flowers so they can be maximally hydrated. After cutting, flowers need to condition (rest) in cool water for several hours before they are ready for design (and more time is better). If I were to skip this step to speed up the process, the risk is the flowers might droop because they haven’t had all the time they need to hydrate.

I cut the flowers specifically for you. It’s one of the things that makes Wild Leaf Flowers so special. When I’m harvesting flowers for your order, I’m thinking of you, the recipient, the occasion, and which flowers would combine well with what I’m collecting. Every step in the process is full of intention.

As Wild Leaf grows as a business, I may streamline the process where it makes sense to do so without sacrificing the quality of your blooms. I know sometimes customers are working on a shorter timeline, and I’ll always do what I can to help. With a little planning, you can get a bouquet that is bespoke and cut just for you at the proper time.
